Identifying with O.J. – Not Recommended by Freud

Things you probably shouldn’t say about your ex-wife:
1. That you miss her
2. That you still see her, even though she doesn’t see you
3. That you totally understand how O.J. felt

Hulk Hogan, pro wrestler and reality star, recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he “totally understood how O.J. felt” and that he “could have turned everything into a crime scene, cutting everyone’s throat.”

Creeeeeeeeeepy.

Granted, I’m sure it’s kind of a bummer when you wife divorces you after 25 years and sets up shack with the pool boy in your mansion and kicks you out right after the reality show featuring your family ends. Still, ever heard of a pre-nup?

Hogan’s rep smoothly blew the whole thing off by saying,

As part of a larger conversation, he referred to it to exemplify his frustration with his own situation

Well, no kidding. It’s just that apparently Hogan is frustrated enough to go all Bundy on her ass.

that is effing creepy. and he always seemed so pleasant on the show…. :/

  2. 2 Empathizing. April 18, 2009 at 1:59 pm

Before I say anything else, I’d like to point out that I rarely watch reality-television (Or television at all for that matter). However, the times I’ve seen bits of “Hogan Knows Best” I’d like to point out that Linda put herself out there even on the show (Its funny that the one time I saw it was when Linda had a fitness trainer who was way too touchy-feely). So with that, Hogan probably should’ve figured it out before.

Now, while I understand where you’re coming from Margo, I’d have to say I empathize with Hogan. Yes, what he said has connotations that aren’t exactly pleasant, but I really don’t think this is implicative of his character. If that were the case, he’d have killed her already. Actually, he’d have killed them as soon as he found out about the pool boy. And he’s a big, muscular motherfucker, so it wouldn’t have been hard for him, had he done it.

Also, I can honestly say that every guy that has been cheated on, has AT LEAST had a *mere* passing thought of fucking up the other man (I’ve been cheated on before. I’ve shared these thoughts, but like Hogan-and unlike O.J.-I never acted on them). So for any guy to point the finger at Hogan is a tad hypocritical. Yes, his comment was badly timed, and inappropriate for the moment (i.e. To the media). But I feel a lot of people have taken what he said out of context.

Also I’d like to quote you: “…ever heard of a pre-nup?”
—That can be a sensitive issue with couples. While you and I may think of doing this, others can be offended by it. Also, most couples in the moment don’t think about “…if we don’t work”

Everything you say is totally fair except for the fact that Hulk Hogan said this TO A MAGAZINE. That is entirely stupid and he deserves all the flack he’s getting for it. It’s fine if he thinks it, but to willingly put it into the hands of the media is dumb x 1000000000.

honestly the entire hulk hogan drama got TOO soap opera for me… people in life-threatening car accidents, jail, and listen this “pool boy” thing gets MUCH creepier when you account in that the boy actually went to school/is the exact same age as her kids.can you say FAME WHORE???

hulk hogan has gone off his rocker. but i guess he just says stupid stuff to get publicity (since his career is down the toilet)

    nice find though!

I swear I’m not trying to pull a Chris Crocker with the “Leave Hulk ALOOONE!” Margo. lulz.

Reading the original article (Rolling Stone), this is how the “quote” is printed:

“…I could have turned everything into a crime scene like O.J., cutting everybody’s throat…”

—Hogan says what he said in its entirety was something to the effect of how he could’ve handled it as immaturely as Linda did and got with some broad young enough to be his daughter. Then went to how he could’ve pulled an O.J. but he didn’t and chose to take the high road. Honestly, that sounds like a reasonable explanation to the cropped quote. Yes, he probably should’ve been more careful, since most know how the media will twist words for sales. But just like I originally thought, he most likely was saying something about NOT pulling an O.J.

that’s a really good catch Carlos… but yeah it is true that you have to be very careful with words (especially in an interview with a MAJOR MAGAZINE). the entire family fucked themselves over (if you ask me) and didn’t seem to try to hide any of their problems… so this is just another one of those /headdesk moments that we’ve become all too familiar with when it comes to the Hogans.

  5. 7 LEAVE HULK ALONE! *faggot tears* April 19, 2009 at 10:18 pm

Yeah. You’re probably wondering why I feel like defending the Hulk. Here’s what I notice about him (all the time):

In reference to the crappy movies he’s been in:
They were family-oriented films (mostly geared toward kids). Every one of them involved him being the protagonist, and somehow helping kids with something (busting big-time criminals in stupid ways, showing them how to fight bullies).

    His wrestling career:
He never took it seriously, unlike some other wrestlers who overdo the roids. And even when he did steroids he never let the wrestling stigmas get to him. Yes, he’d be in character for the WWF, but he always managed to take the shades off and show that it was all an act and that he was human.

In general he stays true to himself. So regardless of the fact that I think most [who am I kidding? all] of the movies he was in were cheesy and lame, or the fact that I think wrestling is generally stupid, I respect Hulk Hogan as a person, and doubt that he actually is a creep.

But yes, he probably should’ve figured that Linda was gonna do him wrong, and yes he should’ve NEVER put his trust in the media (Unless its Metal Hammer, Decibel, or any Metal mag. They don’t pull the same bullshit as the mainstream counterparts)

  6. 8 Satan...*sips wine* April 19, 2009 at 10:23 pm

While I’m at it, had I been the kid with access to TV and the dead brain cells to actually like fake wrestling and shitty movies. Hulk Hogan would’ve been my hero. Hell, if not my hero now, I’d definitely have a beer with the guy and talk about the stupid bitches who did us wrong.

If I knew he loved OJ when I met him in the Dallas Airport, we could’ve had more to talk about.
